Early members of this family were named the Felde’s due to where they settled. The name is derived from the word feld, which means the pasture or open country. Therefore, the Felde’s preferred to live on areas of land that were cleared and had rich soil to farm crops or herd animals. Not having much natural protection led the Felde’s to become naturals in the art of defending themselves. This was either done with swordsmanship, archery, or the family favorite… mounted combat. The family’s reputation in the art of war became well known across a vast amount of land, which is why it was no shock to the Felde’s when they were asked to join in the War of Two.
The War of Two was short lived, and the family was well off for around 130 years after it ended. However, once again the family would be called into consistent action for the next 50 years. This constant fighting was one the Realm could hardly take for much longer, much less the Felde family. Many sons of the family had fallen in battle while fighting for the Clans and against the Empire of Xeilias. By the time of the Siege of Archeon only two sons of Felde remained and they were determined that their actions there, would not mark the end of the Felde family…
In the year 698, Clan Rhyne established leadership amongst the Clans and their people. This included the Felde family. The Kingdom of Vornair would soon be official and formalized. Even though the two brothers of the Felde family were commoners, their actions were noticed. They would be Knighted in the year 703 and established their coat of arms with the garb as its focal point. The two brothers would regrow the family as best they could and by the time of their deaths, had five sons.
The year is 752 and I am one of those sons. I am proud to say our family is strong once more. I myself was given Baronship two years ago in the Duchy where my father and uncle settled, the Conclave of Aritaur. This was granted to us because of our family’s history of defending our lands and our people. I will move on from this world soon, but I leave my son, Borhamor, and my grandson, Alamor, who are the heirs to lead this family to greatness in Elyria.
The ones who came before us struggled but overcame adversity to become Knights of the Realm. They fought and died to become Nobles of the Kingdom, and now it is your turn, my children, to continue the legacy of the Felde family.
